Wednesdays are when we go to the Farmers Market. I bring my teal nylon bag that rolls up into a compact burrito along with used plastic bags and any empty cartons that can be reused, to the stalls we frequent. We usually get a dozen brown organic eggs for $2.50, a couple baskets of strawberries, and dark red cherries we hand pick from the pile because we can only eat the firm and crunchy ones. Sometimes for lunch we get a rotisserie rosemary chicken with roasted potatoes sprinkled with sea salt and a tamale. One of these days I’ll bring home some herbs to plant once I prove to T. that I do have somewhat of a green thumb with my current plants. My bay leaves are multiplying and reaching towards the sky!
